This role ensures that procedures, work instructions, and records are accurate, accessible, and compliant with company and regulatory requirements.This is a hands-on role working closely with engineering, operations, and quality teams to translate technical processes into clear documentation while maintaining controlled records in a regulated environment. The position plays a critical role in supporting audit readiness, traceability, and operational consistency as manufacturing operations scale.ResponsibilitiesTechnical DocumentationDevelop, edit, and maintain technical documents including procedures, work instructions, specifications, and reportsTranslate engineering and manufacturing processes into clear, user-friendly documentationStandardize document structure, formatting, and language across departmentsReview and revise documentation to ensure accuracy and alignment with current processesDocument Control & Records SupportSupport management of controlled documents through revision, approval, and release processesMaintain version control and ensure documents are current and accessibleEnsure records are properly organized, stored, and retrievable in accordance with company proceduresAssist with document change control and configuration management processesCompliance & Audit SupportEnsure documentation aligns with applicable standards (e.g., NQA-1, ISO 9001, DOE/NRC requirements as applicable)Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and recordsMaintain audit-ready documentation and support document retention practicesCross Functional CoordinationWork closely with engineering, quality, and operations teams to gather technical information and validate contentSupport rollout and implementation of new or revised procedures and work instructionsAssist teams in understanding documentation requirements and best practicesSystems & Process ImprovementSupport implementation and improvement of document management and records systemsIdentify opportunities to improve documentation workflows, clarity, and usabilityDevelop templates and guidelines for consistent technical documentationPreferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Engineering, Science, Business, or a related field; or equivalent experience2–5 years of experience in document control, technical writing, or records management in a regulated or industrial environmentStrong writing, editing, and document organization skills with high attention to detailExperience translating technical or engineering content into clear documentationFamiliarity with document control or quality systems (e.g., NQA-1, ISO 9001, or similar)Experience with document management systems, ERP, or quality systemsProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and document formatting toolsAbility to manage multiple documents and priorities in a fast-paced environmentExperience in nuclear, aerospace, defense, or other regulated industries is a plusBenefitsHealth, Dental & Vision InsuranceHealth Savings AccountDisability and Life Insurance401K PlanPaid Time Off, HolidaysWork EnvironmentThis role is based in Oak Ridge, TN and involves a combination of office-based work and regular interaction with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.The position requires detailed documentation work, coordination across departments, and participation in audits and compliance activities.
