Shipping Clerk (Bills of Lading Experience) 1st Shift Alabaster, AL

Snelling is recruiting for experienced Shipping Clerk for a global sealing solutions provider based in Alabaster, Alabama. The Shipping Clerk is responsible for fulfilling orders, working both independently and on a team. Package all orders for customer deliveries, pick-ups and shipments. All products must be packaged securely and addressed properly to arrive at its destination timely intact and with no damage.

Pay: $18.00-$20.00/hr, depending on experience Schedule: 1st shift, Monday-Friday, some weekend work as needed

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR SHIPPING CLERK:

• Accurately package, label, and weigh items to be shipped ensuring proper shipment method and shipping charges.
• Ensure all shipments receive the proper labeling and postal charges and are packaged to arrive safely.
• Prepare detailed and accurate invoices according to shipping procedures and ensure all items are packaged and shipped to company standards.
• Work with other shipping clerks to ensure all invoices are handled properly and promptly.
• Schedule pickup and delivery of merchandise by common carriers.
• Track packages using computer system.
• Ensure work is done safely and meets quality standards.
• Take inventory at designated schedule times during the year.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR SHIPPING CLERK:

• 2-3 years in a manufacturing/industrial environment, preferred.
• Minimum of 1-3 years of work experience involving shipping related tasks is preferred.
• Must be able to operate a lift truck and forklift in a professional and safe manner.
• MUST have Bills of Lading experience
• Must be detail oriented, self-motivated and disciplined with the ability to multi-task.
• Must have computer skills and the ability to learn new software programs.
