Tang by Mr. Sun is an upscale contemporary Chinese restaurant located on Manhattan's Upper East Side. We are seeking a polished, friendly, and professional Host/Hostess to become the first impression of our restaurant. If you have a passion for hospitality, exceptional customer service, and creating memorable guest experiences, we'd love to hear from you.

Compensation:

• $18-$22 per hour, depending on experience.
• This is a non-tipped position.
• Paid training.

Responsibilities:

• Welcome every guest with warmth, professionalism, and a genuine smile.
• Manage reservations using our reservation system and coordinate seating efficiently.
• Maintain a smooth guest flow while communicating effectively with servers and managers.
• Answer phone calls and respond professionally to guest inquiries.
• Assist with private event inquiries and provide accurate information when needed.
• Ensure the host stand, entrance, and waiting area remain clean, organized, and presentable.
• Open doors for guests when appropriate and thank guests as they leave.
• Maintain a polished appearance and professional posture throughout the shift.
• Anticipate guest needs and resolve minor concerns before they become issues.
• Support the front-of-house team whenever necessary to provide exceptional service.

Qualifications:

• Previous host, restaurant, hotel, or hospitality experience is preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Friendly, outgoing, and confident personality.
• Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Punctual, reliable, and team-oriented.
• Professional appearance and positive attitude.
• Experience with reservation platforms such as Resy or OpenTable is a plus.
• Weekend and holiday availability is preferred.
