Charge Nurse – Acute Care travel assignment in San Luis Obispo, California. Start date: 09/14/2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay range: $2,412 to $2,562 per week with guaranteed 40 hours per week. Responsibilities
- Provide unit-based leadership, supervising nursing and ancillary staff under the direction of the Nurse Manager/Director
- Lead care planning and communications with the health care team, patients, and families to develop and revise individualized care plans
- Monitor and direct patient care activities to ensure safety, quality, and cost-effective outcomes; participate in direct patient care as needed
- Promote patient- and family-centered care with attention to cultural diversity; perform rounds to assess patient needs and introduce yourself to patients and families
- Gather feedback on nursing services, address concerns, and help implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient satisfaction and outcomes
- Investigate and resolve patient care or operational issues; support policy and procedure improvement efforts

Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required; Master’s Degree preferred
- Licenses/Certifications: Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice required; BLS required; ACLS and PALS required; EPIC EMR experience strongly preferred
- Experience: At least two years of recent nursing experience; two or more years in a charge/lead role strongly preferred; trauma center experience preferred
- Other: Ability to work in a fast-paced acute care environment; schedule and start times rotate; must meet all state and facility-specific requirements
