Criminal Defense Attorney for AI Training [Remote]

Apply your criminal defense expertise to train and evaluate next-generation AI systems. In this contractor role you will provide real-world legal judgment, draft and critique criminal defense content, and help shape how models learn to reason about criminal law. No prior AI experience is required, your domain knowledge is the priority.

• Review, annotate, and provide feedback on legal documents and criminal court scenarios to ensure factual and contextual accuracy.
• Create and evaluate hypothetical case analyses, plea agreements, motions, and trial strategies that reflect real-world criminal defense practice.
• Develop detailed explanations of legal reasoning, evidentiary considerations, and procedural steps in criminal defense contexts.
• Assess system-generated content for legal soundness, clarity, and ethical compliance.
• Produce clear, concise written responses and, when required, verbal explanations to complex legal questions.
• Collaborate virtually with a multidisciplinary team to calibrate and refine AI model outputs.
• Contribute to ongoing improvements in legal data quality and project methodologies.

• Required skills: criminal law, trial advocacy, legal writing, case analysis, and strong ethical judgment.
• Preferred: active license to practice law and substantial experience in criminal defense work.
• Experience drafting and reviewing motions, briefs, and other criminal practice documents.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Proven ability to analyze complex fact patterns, legal arguments, and evidentiary issues.
• Strong commitment to upholding ethical standards and maintaining client confidentiality.

Pay range: $140 to $400 per hour.
