Certified Surgical Technologist-Outpatient Surgery Part-time

Position: Part‑Time Certified Surgical Technologist City/State: Charlottesville, VA Work Shift: First (Day) – 18 hours per week within operating hours. Overview Sentara Martha Jefferson is hiring a Part‑Time Certified Surgical Technologist for our Outpatient Surgery Center at Pantops. A sign‑on bonus up to $7,500 is available for qualified candidates. Responsibilities Prepare the operating room with instruments and equipment. Assist the surgical team by passing instruments, maintaining the sterile field, and anticipating surgeon needs. Maintain patient safety, cleanliness, and sterility of the surgical environment. Assist with applying dressings, securing drapes, and transferring patients to recovery areas. Adhere to infection control protocols and sterile techniques. Collaborate with surgical staff to ensure smooth procedures. Qualifications & Certifications Education: Completion of a Surgical Technologist program (TS – Trade School Graduate – Surgical Technologist). Licensure: Licensed Surgical Technologist – Virginia (required). Certifications: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – NBSTSA or Tech in Surgery TS‑C – NCCT, and Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA. Experience: Operating room experience preferred; strong understanding of surgical procedures, sterile techniques, and patient safety protocols.
