This organization designs and integrates highly automated systems focused on improving productivity, automation efficiency, and operational performance for customers across multiple industries.Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Controls Engineer with a strong background in industrial automation, machine integration, and AGV systems. This role will support cradle-to-grave controls engineering projects including system design, PLC programming, commissioning, integration, startup, debugging, and customer support activities.The ideal candidate will be highly hands-on and capable of independently leading automation projects involving AGVs, robotics, PLCs, and integrated material handling systems. This position will work closely with engineering teams, customers, and field operations to ensure successful implementation of automation solutions.ResponsibilitiesDesign, program, commission, and support AGV and industrial automation systemsDevelop and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLC programs and industrial control systemsPerform machine integration, startup, commissioning, and test/debug activities both onsite and in-houseSupport cradle-to-grave automation projects from concept through final customer acceptanceCollaborate with customers to understand operational requirements and implement automation solutionsSupport system integration involving robotics, conveyors, sensors, motor controls, and industrial networksTroubleshoot electrical controls, automation systems, and integrated manufacturing equipmentCreate and maintain technical documentation including schematics, control drawings, and system documentationUtilize CAD software for system layouts, electrical drawings, and automation integration supportAssist with continuous improvement and system optimization initiativesProvide technical support and training to customers and internal teams as neededTravel to customer sites for installation, commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting activitiesQualifications5+ years of Controls Engineering or Industrial Automation experience requiredStrong Allen-Bradley PLC programming and troubleshooting experience requiredExperience supporting cradle-to-grave controls engineering projectsPrior experience with Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) requiredExperience with machine integration, commissioning, startup, and system debugging requiredCAD software experience requiredStrong understanding of industrial automation systems, electrical controls, and material handling equipmentExperience with robotics, warehouse automation, or automated manufacturing systems preferredAbility to independently troubleshoot and support complex automation systemsStrong communication and customer-facing skillsBachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field requiredPreferred ExperienceAGV or AMR systemsRobotics integrationMaterial handling automationWarehouse automation systemsIndustrial networking and controls integrationHigh-speed automation equipmentSystem commissioning and customer startup supportBenefitsCompetitive compensation packageFull benefits packageLong-term career growth opportunityExposure to advanced automation and AGV technologiesCollaborative engineering environmentStable and growing automation organizationYou should be proficient in:Industrial Robot ProgrammingTroubleshooting Industrial Automation EquipmentPLC Programming ExperienceEquipment InstallationMachines & technologies you'll use:Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) (Allen Bradley)Industrial Robot #J-18808-Ljbffr Torrey Holistics
