Manager, Operations

Merck's Animal Health division seeks an operations manager to oversee materials handling, sterile tank management, and personnel supervision at a vaccine manufacturing facility in Delaware. The role ensures regulatory compliance, production scheduling, and quality standards across central services operations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise central services facilities, equipment, and personnel; coordinate temporary labor and cross-departmental support
• Review production records and processes for regulatory compliance and SOP adherence
• Schedule equipment maintenance, manage materials flow, and track critical component issues with vendors
• Train staff on regulatory requirements and coordinate resource utilization across production areas
• Evaluate and implement equipment and personnel improvements to maximize throughput

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; AS/BS in Life Sciences preferred
• Minimum five years manufacturing experience in vaccine or pharmaceutical sector
• Minimum two years supervisory or lead role experience
• Working knowledge of USDA and GMP guidelines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP systems
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and team-building capabilities
• Preferred: aseptic techniques and filling operations knowledge
