Systems Engineer - Sustainment Engineering

Location: San Diego, CA (On-site w/ability to telework) Clearance: Active Secret or ability to obtain Certification: Security+ (must obtain within 90 days of hiring) Salary Range: $105K – $145K Position Overview We are looking for a Systems Engineer to support GCCS-M Group Level efforts on the CB-ISEA contract, with a focus on Tactical Training Equipment (TTE) environments, system deployment, and cybersecurity hardening . This role is hands‑on and focused on standing up and securing systems — working across hardware, Windows environments, networking and cybersecurity requirements alongside other teams like Cybersecurity and Infrastructure. What You’ll Do Support stand‑up of new hardware environments (workstations and servers) Build and deploy Secure Host Baseline (SHB) implementation Configure systems post‑imaging and prepare them for operational use Support domain configuration and system integration Work with Test & Eval on testing/redlining any problems/documentation Windows Systems & Imaging Create and deploy gold images (.WIM) using Sysprep Perform system setup (domain join/rejoin, static IPs, configuration) Install and configure software on Windows systems Cybersecurity & Hardening Perform system hardening based on ACAS and SCAP findings Work with IA teams to remediate vulnerabilities and close findings Support DISA STIG and RMF compliance efforts Infrastructure & Coordination Support troubleshooting across system, network, and application layers Assist with scripting/automation for deployments and configurations What We’re Looking For Required Active Security Clearance OR ability to obtain one Security+ certification OR ability to obtain within 90 days Experience working with Windows systems (administration, setup, troubleshooting) Preferred (Nice to Have) Experience creating or working with Secure Host Baselines (SHBs) Experience with Windows OS hardening in a DoD environment Familiarity with ACAS, SCAP, and STIG-based compliance Experience creating/deploying .WIM images using Sysprep Experience working with IA teams to close cyber findings Scripting experience (PowerShell preferred) Experience with domain controller (DC) setup/configuration Familiarity with TTE or training environments Basic networking or switch hardening experience Equal Opportunity Employer Statement ODME is a Federal contractor and an Equal Opportunity Employer .
