About the Role:
We're seeking an experienced Power BI Developer/Architect to join our Los Angeles team for a 6-month engagement. You'll be responsible for designing and developing comprehensive business intelligence solutions, creating data models, and building interactive dashboards and reports that drive business decision-making.
What You'll Do:
- Design and develop Power BI reports, dashboards, and data visualizations
- Create and optimize data models using Power BI Desktop and Power Query
- Architect scalable Power BI solutions for enterprise-level reporting needs
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Implement data governance best practices and security protocols
- Integrate Power BI with various data sources (SQL Server, Azure, SharePoint, etc.)
- Optimize report performance and troubleshoot data connectivity issues
- Provide training and support to end users on Power BI functionality
- Document technical specifications and maintain solution architecture
What We're Looking For:
- 6+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI development
- Strong expertise in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, and Power Query
- Proven experience as a Power BI Architect with complex solution design
- Proficiency in DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) and M language
- Knowledge of data modeling concepts and dimensional modeling
- Experience with SQL Server, Azure services, and data warehousing
- Understanding of ETL processes and data integration techniques
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Experience with agile development methodologies
Preferred Qualifications:
- Microsoft Power BI certifications
- Experience with Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics
- Knowledge of Python or R for advanced analytics
- Familiarity with other BI tools (Tableau, QlikView)
- Understanding of data governance and security frameworks
