Senior Accountant Location: Staatsburg, NY - full-time onsite Compensation: $74,000 - $77,000 depending on experience Why this company? What You Will Do as a Senior Accountant: The Senior Accountant will oversee agency-wide accounts receivable operations, ensuring accurate and timely billing across Medicaid, Medicare, insurance, school and county contracts, preschool services, residential programs, consulting services, nutrition programs, SNAP, and other agency revenue sources. You will supervise and support Accounts Receivable staff by providing guidance, reviewing workflow priorities, facilitating regular team meetings, and helping ensure the efficient execution of billing and collection activities. You will monitor billing processes and revenue cycle performance to ensure services are billed accurately, collections are maximized, and revenues are recognized in accordance with applicable regulations, funding requirements, and agency standards. The Senior Accountant will oversee cash receipt activity, assist with collection efforts when necessary, review aging reports, and help resolve outstanding receivables in a timely and professional manner. You will collaborate with program leaders, clinical teams, and external stakeholders to ensure the accuracy of documentation, coding, billing information, and reimbursement processes. The Senior Accountant will perform and review reconciliations of accounts receivable and revenue-related accounts, ensuring financial records are complete, accurate, and audit‑ready. You will prepare, analyze, and distribute financial and productivity reports that support organizational decision‑making and operational performance. You will contribute to monthly and year‑end closing processes by preparing workpapers, account analyses, reconciliations, and supporting documentation. The Senior Accountant will assist with internal audits, compliance reviews, and monitoring activities designed to strengthen financial controls and improve operational efficiency. You will support annual financial audits, cost report preparation, Title I reporting, and other required fiscal reporting activities by preparing schedules, documentation, and revenue‑related analyses. The Senior Accountant will work closely with Finance leadership on special projects, financial reporting initiatives, process improvements, and other organizational priorities. You will use your accounting expertise to help ensure the financial resources necessary to support high-quality services for individuals with autism, their families, and the broader community. Desired Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field required. 3+ years of accounting experience required. Previous experience with accounts receivable, billing, revenue management, financial reporting, or healthcare/nonprofit accounting preferred. #J-18808-Ljbffr
