Hematologist/Oncologist

Overview

The successful hematologist/oncologist candidate should be comfortable performing all aspects of adult hematology/oncology. All care will be provided in an outpatient setting only with no inpatient care responsibilities. Qualified candidates should be BE/BC in Hematology/Oncology. The selected candidate should demonstrate the ability to work well with a large, diverse and dedicated patient care staff providing healthcare that includes health education, preventative care, along with diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures.

Responsibilities

Summary of Responsibilities:

• Works closely with the Associate Medical Director, Clinic Manager, and other members of the clinic management team to:
• Provides medical services in a health clinic setting and is responsible for providing medical care to UHC patients and the general public.
• Diagnose diseases, conditions, and illnesses of patients presenting at UHC.
• Review radiology and laboratory reports/findings.
• Prescribe the appropriate type of medicine and treatment including infusion and chemotherapy.
• Responsible for referring patients for special types of diagnostic treatments or medical procedures and coordinates plans for treatments.
• Provide medical consultation to prevention, treatment, care and diagnosis of health conditions and problems.
• May supervise mid-level practitioners, staff nurses and other support staff.
• Keep and prepare accurate medical charting and records using electronic medical records system.
• Ensure documentation compliance with health programs and insurances.

Qualifications

Education:

Doctor of Medicine (MD) with Fellowship in oncology or hematology/oncology

BC/BE in hematology/oncology, with licensure in good standing

License/Certification:

Possess a valid CA Medical License

Possess a current DEA Certification

Valid Lifesaving Certification (BLS,ACLS)

Valid Driver's License

Board Certified or Board Eligible

The salary wage range that UHC reasonably expects to pay for the position upon hire starts at $300,000.00 a year plus bonus. Our competitive salaries are dependent on knowledge, skills and experience. The base pay does not include other forms of compensation and/or incentives.
