Junior Programmer - FDA DASH Database / Project Support

Client: U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)

Location: Primarily Remote - occasional onsite work in Silver Spring, MD / Washington, DC area

Duration: 12 Months - contingent upon contract award

Pay Rate: $54.35-$56.66/hour

Start Date: Upon contract award and completion of security requirements

Position Summary

SMX Services & Consulting is seeking a Junior Programmer to support the FDA's DASH Knowledge Management program.

This position combines database support and project coordination . The individual will help keep project activities organized, track schedules and deliverables, maintain documentation, support database improvements, and ensure work is completed according to FDA requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Track project tasks, schedules, deadlines, and deliverables.
• Coordinate project activities and follow up on outstanding items.
• Prepare project status updates and track progress.
• Participate in bi-weekly FDA status meetings.
• Identify project issues and assist with resolving them.
• Support the Project Work Plan and project kickoff activities.
• Assist with database updates and process improvements.
• Coordinate with FDA technical teams, subject-matter experts, and contractors.
• Maintain project documentation, SOPs, user guides, data definitions, and SharePoint tracking materials.
• Support data quality, QA/QC, and change-control activities.
• Ensure compliance with FDA security, confidentiality, and project requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (BA or BS).
• 4+ years of professional experience.
• 2+ years of management or project oversight experience.
• Experience coordinating projects, deadlines, and deliverables.
• Ability to monitor and report project progress.
• Experience identifying and resolving project issues.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.
• Experience maintaining quality standards and project requirements.

Preferred Experience

• Federal or State Government experience.
• FDA or CDER experience.
• Database development or database management.
• Oracle / APEX experience.
• SQL and relational database experience.
• Data quality and QA/QC.
• Pharmaceutical, biomedical, healthcare, or regulatory environments.
• SOP and technical documentation.
• Change management and change control.

Highly preferred: Previous FDA DASH experience or experience working with FDA drug-review systems and regulatory documentation.

Security Requirements

The selected candidate must be able to complete NACI and Level 5 Public Trust processing , fingerprinting, FDA security/privacy training, and required confidentiality agreements.
