Registered Nurse in Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)

This position involves night shifts for 12 hours. Shifts are from 19:00 to 07:30 with every other weekend and some holidays required. No on-call duty is necessary for this role. The candidate must possess CVICU experience. Experience in a Cardiothoracic Surgery and/or Acuity Adaptable area is preferred. Candidates must hold a current RN license. AHA BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory. Responsibilities include caring for patients requiring specialized care for cardiac and thoracic surgeries. This may involve immediate post-surgical care for heart and lung transplant patients. The candidate will work in a unit that accommodates a dynamic range of acuity. Assigned patient ratios generally range from 1 to 2, with potential increases based on unit needs. This unit includes interdisciplinary support teams for comprehensive patient care. Knowledge in the management of various medical devices is beneficial. A telemetry exam will be required prior to the start of the position. The role demands a commitment to providing high-quality care and support to patients and families. Pass/fail testing is strictly enforced with specific passing criteria for telemetry. A patient-centered approach and teamwork are essential for success in this role.

Experience: CVICU experience required; minimum of 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years. License: RN license required Certifications: AHA BLS and ACLS required Must-Have: Experience and knowledge of NextStage CVVH machine required. Traveler must have Basic Arrhythmia experience. Traveler will be required to pass a telemetry test prior to being cleared to start.
