Electrical/HVAC ApprenticeTo assist licensed electrician and HVAC technician in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. Assist in the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical and HVAC equipment2. Learn to troubleshoot electrical circuits, heating systems, air conditioning units, and ventilation systems3. Help install wiring, conduit, breakers, thermostats, motors, compressors, and other system componentsPerform preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment and electrical systemsUse hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment safely and correctlyRead and interpret basic blueprints, wiring diagrams, and installation manualsFollow all OSHA safety regulations and safety proceduresMaintain a clean and organized work area, vehicle, and job siteLoad, unload, and organize tools, materials, and equipmentAccurately complete work orders and daily job documentationCommunicate professionally with staff and team membersParticipate in classroom instruction, on-the-job training, and continuing education as requiredFollow district safety protocols and emergency proceduresRespond to emergency calls as neededCorrect unsafe conditions in work area and promptly report any conditions that are not immediately correctable to supervisorAssist other departments of the district as assignedMental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:Tools/Equipment Used: Hand and power tools, multimeter, gauge sets, probes, laddersPosture/Motion: Prolonged standing; frequent walking, kneeling/squatting, climbing, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting; perform physically demanding tasks for extended periodsLifting: Regular light lifting and carrying (up to 75 pounds)Environment: Work in attics, crawl spaces, rooftops, and confined spaces; and work in varying weather conditions, work on slippery or uneven surfaces exposure to dust, toxic chemicals and materials, noise, vibration, and electrical hazards, work around machinery with moving partsMental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress; may work prolonged or irregular hoursThe foregoing statements describe the general purpose and responsibilities assigned to this job and are not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities and duties that may be assigned or skills that may be required.
