Avera Majestic Bluffs / Avera Sister James Care Center Work Shift: Primarily days with possible weekends/evenings/holidays (United States) Student Loan Repayment: This position may be eligible for Avera’s Student Loan Repayment Program, which helps you pay off your loans and save money. Each month an extra payment of $167 (up to $10,000) from Avera will help pay down your principal balance faster. Overview Be part of a multidisciplinary team built with compassion and the goal of moving health forward for you and our patients. Responsibilities Daily coordination and delivery of occupational therapy services focusing on conditions and health diagnoses, implementing specific treatment programs for individual patients and patient groups according to occupational therapy principles and department objectives. Demonstrate knowledge of age‑specific factors and perform satisfactorily within patient age ranges from infants to geriatrics as per unit guidelines and competencies. Evaluate patients by gathering data from records, interviews, observations, and team members. Use selected activities and/or tasks to promote and maintain health and achieve treatment goals. Provide direct therapy services using various functional settings and strategies. Plan therapy within the patient’s physical, emotional, and intellectual capabilities, and coordinate with rehabilitation, medical, and nursing care plans. Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members regarding status, progress, and needs. Establish rapport and work cooperatively with interdisciplinary team members (including family/physician) throughout the intervention program. Evaluate and monitor clinical internship with students from universities and colleges. Requirements Active state license per Occupational Therapist licensing board upon hire. Ability to perform essential job functions, including adequate visual acuity, effective communication, hearing, understanding, and speech discrimination.
