Respiratory Therapist

Respiratory TherapistProvides assessment, treatment, care, and evaluation for patients with respiratory disorders under licensed medical direction.Essential Responsibilities:Administers therapeutic respiratory care procedures according to hospital and department policies.Completes documentation that is required to measure, monitor, and ensure department effectiveness e.g., charting, billing, IPOC, patient/family education.Performs diagnostic respiratory procedures according to hospital and department policies.Provides instruction to patients and other members of the healthcare team as needed.Performs other duties as assigned or required.Qualifications:Minimum:Graduate of an approved respiratory therapy program.Pennsylvania state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist, or Temporary Practice Permit (TPP).Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) National Board of Respiratory Care required prior to the expiration of the Temporary Practice Permit (TPP).Preferred:Registered with the National Board of Respiratory Care RRTTwo years' experience in pulmonary/respiratory medicine in a hospital setting.Additional Employment Requirements:CPR – American Heart Association.Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.Compliance Requirement: This job adheres to the ethical and legal standards and behavioral expectations as set forth in the code of business conduct and company policies.Highmark Health and its affiliates prohibit discrimination against qualified individuals based on their status as protected veterans or individuals with disabilities and prohibit discrimination against all individuals based on any category protected by applicable federal, state, or local law.We endeavor to make this site accessible to any and all users.
