The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day upkeep, repair, and operational efficiency of the facility. This role involves performing routine maintenance across multiple trades—such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and painting—while assisting skilled technicians and ensuring a safe, clean, and functional environment. The Maintenance Assistant actively participates in preventive maintenance, facility inspections, event set-up/tear-down, furniture relocation, and coordination with third-party vendors, while maintaining accurate work documentation and inventory. Strong collaboration with the facilities team and client-focused service are critical, making this position essential to sustaining smooth operations and a well-maintained campus. Qualified candidates demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely and efficiently.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist the facilities team in the maintenance and repair of the building and related equipment

• Perform general maintenance including carpentry, HVAC, electrical, plumbing and painting

• Assist with basic troubleshooting of HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems

• Perform room set-up/tear-down for events

• Perform inspection of the campus by cleaning up debris and materials

• Perform alterations to furniture and relocation of client’s boxed belongs as needed

• Perform chaperone duties for third-party venders performing work at the campus

• Move outbound/inbound packages to/from the Shipping & Receiving area

• Complete assigned work orders in CMMS and maintain appropriate service documentation

• Maintain tools, parts, equipment and supplies in clean and safe conditions

• Work collaboratively with the onsite JLL team and under the direction of the Sr. Facility Manager

• Provide customer service to our client

• Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational process training programs

• Support on-call or emergency response situations

• Other projects and tasks to be assigned

Required Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED

• 1-2 years of related work experience, especially in repair, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical or carpentry

• Valid driver's license

• Basic computer skills

• Willingness to participate in a rotating on-call schedule

• Ability to frequently climb, bend, kneel, lift, and work on ladders, as well as lift up to 50 lbs

• Strong customer service skills

• Ability to multi-task and prioritize needs

Preferred Qualifications

• Trade school, union training, military service or college

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, from 6:30 am to 4:00 pm
