Dietary Manager (Logan, UT) The Dietary Manager is an effective business manager responsible for leading the dining services team in preparing nutritious meals, providing service with a hospitality focus, and managing costs within or below budget in accordance with all laws, regulations, and company standards. Responsibilities Plan, develop, organize, implement, and evaluate dining services goals, policies, and procedures. Collaborate with nutritionists and dietitians to comply with all federal, state, and local requirements. Collect all guest and visitor payments and forward them to the business office. Represent the dining services team at resident council meetings for feedback. Confere with dietitian to ensure menus and policies meet nutritional standards. Develop menus featuring heart‑healthy choices, low‑sodium options, and diabetic diet needs. Maintain a recipe file for meals. Continuously update knowledge of dietary management and nutrition. Coordinate with Dining Room Supervisor and Sales Director to ensure flawless execution of contracted events. Maintain labor and expense control within or below budget. Manage inventory and portion controls within budget. Plan written menus at least 30 days in advance of preparation/serving dates based on resident preferences. Interview new residents to acquire food preferences, allergies, and special requests. Develop and maintain a system to track residents' dietary needs/preferences and monitor changes. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate’s degree in culinary arts is preferred. Certification as a dietary manager (must become certified within nine (9) months of enrollment) or as a food service manager (must become certified immediately). A national certification for food service management and safety is acceptable. Minimum one year of supervisory experience. Minimum one year of experience in senior living and healthcare foodservice; prior experience in a nursing facility setting preferred. Current ServSafe food handler certification required. Experience preparing meals regularly for large groups in a hospitality environment preferred. Knowledge of special diets. Must meet state requirements for food service managers or dietary managers. Experience in food safety, sanitation procedures, and food purchasing/receiving; completion of a course covering these topics by no later than the specified date is preferred. Preferred: associate’s degree or higher in food service management or hospitality.
