Associate Surgical Account Manager/Surgical Account Manager - Upstate New York

Job Summary Associate Surgical Account Manager / Surgical Account Manager – Upstate New York sales role focusing on cardiovascular devices, primarily the Impella product line. The position requires field presence across the designated territory and collaboration with cardiac surgeons, heart‑failure cardiologists, and the Heart Team. Locations Albany, NY Buffalo, NY Rochester, NY Responsibilities Improve distribution and utilization of Impella 5.5 (left‑sided treatment) and Impella RP (right‑sided treatment). Manage EXCEL sites and clinicals on new surgery, heart‑failure, and ECMO technologies. Collaborate within the area to achieve quarterly growth. Drive excitement and vision of heart‑recovery solutions with existing devices and future technologies. Engage cardiac surgeons, heart‑failure cardiologists, and the Heart Team (interventional cardiologists, intensivists, and perfusionists). Staff major conferences: HFSA, AHA, STS, AATS, and ISHLT. Staff local heart‑failure symposiums. Build a surgical vertical in established Impella programs – full product portfolio. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required. Minimum of 10+ years of cardiac surgery and/or combined cardiology medical‑device sales experience for a Surgical Account Manager level. OR minimum of 5+ years of cardiac surgery and/or combined cardiology medical‑device clinical or sales experience for an Associate Account Manager level. Proven track record of selling in an operating room. Strong knowledge of cardiac surgery and structural heart anatomy. Established relationships/network of cardiac surgeons across the region. Track record of technology adoption and market development. Direct patient support experience. Ability to drive patient outcomes. Travel 50%‑75% overnight. Compliance with all state and federal laws governing the medical‑device industry. Compensation & Benefits Base pay: $75,000 – $100,000. Eligible for a sales incentive compensation program.
