About the Role:

The Lot Porter plays a crucial role in maintaining the organization and cleanliness of the vehicle lot at automotive dealerships or service centers. This position ensures that vehicles are moved efficiently and safely between locations, including customer delivery areas, service bays, and parking lots. The Lot Porter is responsible for conducting basic inspections of vehicles to identify any visible damage or maintenance needs before they are presented to customers or serviced. This role supports the overall customer experience by ensuring vehicles are readily available, properly positioned, and presented in a clean, orderly manner. The Lot Porter contributes to the smooth operation of dealership logistics, helping to maximize productivity and customer satisfaction.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to operate vehicles safely in various weather and lot conditions.
• Physical ability to perform tasks that may include walking, standing, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Basic understanding of vehicle safety and operational procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and reliability.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience working as a lot porter or in a similar automotive support role.
• Familiarity with dealership operations and vehicle inventory management.
• Experience with vehicle washing and detailing.
• Good communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends if necessary.

Responsibilities:

• Safely move vehicles around the lot, including parking, retrieving, and staging cars for customer delivery or service.
• Perform basic vehicle inspections to check for damage, cleanliness, and maintenance needs, reporting any issues to the appropriate personnel.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the lot, including sweeping, trash removal, and ensuring vehicles are free of debris.
• Assist with vehicle fueling and washing as needed to prepare cars for customer delivery or display.
• Coordinate with service and sales teams to ensure timely vehicle movement and availability.

Skills:

The Lot Porter uses driving skills daily to maneuver vehicles safely and efficiently within the lot, ensuring smooth logistics and customer satisfaction. Attention to detail is critical when inspecting vehicles for damage or cleanliness, helping to maintain high standards and prevent issues. Physical stamina and coordination are essential for tasks such as vehicle washing, fueling, and lot maintenance.
