Job Role: Clinician (Licensed/Unlicensed)
Location: Hanford, CA (Day 1 Onsite)
Duration: 6+ Months DESCRIPTION:
• Client View is a nonprofit leader in providing behavioral health services to the underserved community, is currently seeking a driven Clinician I to join our mission to provide compassionate services to those with limited resources.
• Our ideal candidate will have a passion for promoting social justice and societal awareness, respect for human dignity, and lead with integrity while listening and responding to the community in need.
• Under the supervision of the Clinical Manager, the Mental Health Clinician I/II provides direct mental health services in an outpatient setting as part of the Adult Recovery Program.
• Responsibilities include conducting screenings, assessments, and diagnoses for Medi-Cal beneficiaries seeking specialty mental health services, providing individual and group therapy, developing treatment plans, and making appropriate referrals based on clinical needs.
• The ideal candidate will hold a Master's degree in a behavioral health field and be registered or licensed in California (AMFT, ASW, APCC, LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC), with strong clinical judgment and a commitment to supporting adults in their recovery journey.
HOW WILL I CONTRIBUTE:
• Conduct assessments, determine diagnoses, and develop Plans of Care (POCs) for Kings County Medi-Cal beneficiaries to evaluate medical necessity.
• Track, schedule, and screen individuals seeking outpatient mental health services.
• Provide clinically appropriate referrals to other providers or levels of care based on evaluation.
• Maintain a monthly productivity standard of 65%.
• Complete documentation within 0-3 days of service delivery.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with community partners, including Kings County Behavioral Health, Child Welfare Services, Probation, and Adventist Health.
• Attend and actively participate in staff meetings and committee meetings as needed.
• Deliver training, consultation, and presentations to community agencies and stakeholders as time allows.
• Promote positive access and image of mental health services within the community.
• Occasionally assist with crisis response needs, as required.
• Maintain active licensure or registration with the BBS (as LMFT, LCSW, or associate/waivered for Clinician I).
• Complete at least four hours of cultural humility training annually.
• Support Spanish-speaking consumers through interpretation/translation, if applicable.
• Demonstrate competency in use of the electronic health record system, including: Scheduling via EHR Scheduler, Navigating the Clinician Home Page, Creating and maintaining Plans of Care, Entering daily Service Activity Logs (SALs), Writing accurate and timely progress notes.
• Adhere to all Kings View policies, administrative directives, relevant county/state/federal regulations, and contractual performance standards.
• Follow the agency Code of Conduct and maintain compliance with all applicable elements of the Compliance Program.
• May encounter risk of working with persons with SMI (serious mental illness) that may include, but not limited to persons in mental health crisis, persons that may be intoxicated or impaired by drugs or alcohol, persons who may be DTO (danger to others), DTS (Danger to Self), or GD (Gravely Disabled).
• If such situations arise, staff will be required to call local emergency personnel to help deescalate the crisis, use crisis intervention techniques, and consult with supervisor as soon as practically possible.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall functioning and success of the program. WHAT I BRING:
• Master's degree: Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or Related.
• Current Associate Licensure ASW, AMFT, APCC. Must have a National Provider Identification (NPI) number or obtain an NPI number prior to start date.
• Class C Driving License
• 1 year experience providing crisis management and/or mental health services.
• Working knowledge of community and hospital resources.
• Working knowledge of Windows based computer applications to include Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft TEAMS and Internet access.
• Ability to quickly develop rapport with individuals to resolve crisis situations.
• Ability to assess individual's potential for dangerousness to self, others and/or grave disability.
• Ability to make a differential diagnosis between substance abuse and psychiatric emergencies.
• Ability to appropriately and immediately document client interactions.
