Apparel Designer

Placement Type: Temporary Salary: $52.53-58.37 Hourly up to $58.37/hr Start Date: Oct 5, 2026 We are seeking a talented Apparel Designer with a strong combination of creative design skills and technical apparel expertise. This individual will be responsible for developing original, trend-right concepts while independently supporting the product development process from initial sketch through fittings and technical execution. The ideal candidate is a confident communicator and strong sketcher who can translate creative concepts into commercially relevant product. Experience designing across fleece, knits, sport, and swimwear is highly desired. A portfolio is required with all submissions. Key Responsibilities Create original apparel concepts incorporating silhouette, style, color, fabric, and seasonal trends. Research and interpret fashion, consumer, and market trends to inform seasonal design direction. Produce strong sketches and design concepts that clearly communicate product intent. Develop detailed tech packs and provide the technical information needed to move designs through development. Independently lead and participate in fittings, providing clear fit and construction direction. Provide fit, proportion, and body block guidance as needed. Design across categories including fleece, knits, sport, and swimwear. Partner closely with sourcing, materials development, technical design, and other cross-functional teams to execute product. Participate in seasonal design reviews and presentations, presenting concepts and proposed designs when needed. Maintain strong attention to detail throughout the design and development process. Communicate design intent, revisions, and technical requirements clearly to internal and external partners. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience. Relevant professional apparel design experience. Strong hand and/or digital sketching abilities. Demonstrated experience creating and managing tech packs. Ability to confidently and independently lead apparel fittings. Experience designing fleece, knits, sport, and/or swimwear. Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, fabrication, color, and product development. Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with sourcing, materials, technical, and cross-functional partners. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple designs and priorities in a deadline-driven environment. Portfolio Requirement All candidates must submit a portfolio with their application. Portfolios should demonstrate relevant apparel design work, including strong sketching and ideally examples related to fleece, knits, sport, and/or swimwear. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate brings both creative vision and technical execution. They can develop compelling concepts, communicate those ideas through strong sketches, build detailed tech packs, and confidently lead fittings without requiring significant oversight. They are comfortable partnering across the product development process and understand how to translate fashion trends into wearable, commercially relevant apparel.
