Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher supporting students in the Elk Grove Village and Arlington Heights area. This contract role offers the chance to provide specialized instruction in a collaborative, student-centered environment. Leverage your expertise and training to foster growth and success for learners with diverse needs while enjoying a balanced, part-time schedule.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois LBS1 Professional Educator License (PEL) required
- Experience as a Special Education Teacher, ideally working with a variety of disabilities
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Dedication to individualized instruction and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Proficient in developing and implementing IEPs in compliance with school and state guidelines
Responsibilities:
- Deliver in-person, specially designed instruction tailored to student IEP goals
- Work part-time, on campus, 2 days per week, with the assignment beginning as soon as possible and extending through May
- Manage a diverse caseload with professionalism and sensitivity
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
- Monitor and document progress, providing ongoing updates and recommendations
- Support student growth in both academic and social-emotional areas
