Acute Care Registered Nurse

Wage Range: $48.21 - $87.11 per hour

Posted wage ranges represent the entire range from minimum to maximum. EvergreenHealth is seeking an experienced acute care Registered Nurse to join the Children's Services team! This new to specialty nurse will train to NICU. This is a training RN position for experienced nurses with at least one year of acute care nursing experience who are interested in learning a new specialty. We provide about 20 weeks of training depending on the skill set and progress.

Job Summary

Responsible for the total direct nursing care of all patients within established standards of care, hospital and unit policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Primary Duties

1. Provides direct patient care and functions as a patient advocate.
2. Assesses the comprehensive nursing needs of an assigned group of patients.
3. Coordinates the patient and family/significant other education process.
4. Continuously plans, implements, and evaluates patient care, incorporating patient and family/significant other into the process.
5. Participates with physician partners and other interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient and family/significant other plan of care.
6. Effectively communicates all relevant information (e.g., patient information, safety issues, problems with equipment, quality issues, etc.) to immediate supervisor, in timely way.
7. Communicates and documents changes in patient condition, on a timely basis, to charge nurse/supervisor and physician.
8. Performs other duties as assigned.

License, Certification, Education or Experience: REQUIRED for the position:

• Graduate of a nursing program (Nursing Diploma, Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree and/or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree)
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington OR holding a multistate Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) license
• Current Healthcare Provider BLS American Heart Association by start date
• 1 year of inpatient RN experience
• NRP certification within 4 weeks of hire
