Veterinary Technician - Internal Medicine

BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Veterinary Technician to join their fast-paced Internal Medicine department. Pay: $20.10 - $40.00 / hour This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency leveling system. Schedule: 3 x 12hr. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. 8:00am-8:00pm. As an Internal Medicine Veterinary Technician, you are a liaison between our internalists and our clients regarding patient histories, care instructions, lab results, patient updates, and other topics requested by the doctors. You will be involved with client contact through phone calls, email, and in person conversations. Additionally, you will assist with endoscopic and ultrasound procedures, fill prescriptions, take x rays, and obtain lab samples. Strong anesthesia and phlebotomy skills required. Responsibilities Set up constant rate infusions (CRI). Calculate all medical math including advanced and CRI. Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia. Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures. Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway). Clean and maintain equipment following procedure. Discharge IM patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as insulin injection, SQ fluid, and feeding tube demonstrations. Additional job duties as assigned. Why BluePearl?
