Senior Environmental Graphic Designer

In the role of Senior Environmental Graphic Designer , you will help lead the development of meaningful branded experiences, translating ideas, stories, and identities into creative environmental graphics that strengthen the connection between people, brand, and place.

The Senior Environmental Graphic Designer is responsible for the design and management of graphic programs from concept through production, including brand identity development and expansion, exterior and interior signage, retail communications, wayfinding, artistic displays, and historical exhibits. This position provides experienced creative leadership across assigned projects, collaborates closely with multidisciplinary project teams, supports the professional development of junior staff, and helps ensure design solutions are delivered accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with client objectives and NewGround's standards for quality and excellence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the design and management of assigned graphic programs from concept through production.
• Develop innovative, original, and brand relevant design content.
• Participate in and contribute to internal project kickoffs, brainstorming sessions, design reviews, and other collaborative project meetings.
• Collaborate with the Design team in the development of presentation content and project storytelling.
• Present concepts and designs to internal teams, the Director of Branded Environments, and clients as appropriate.
• Obtain brand identity materials, historical assets, and other resources from clients as needed to support project development
• Coordinate and collaborate with the Creative Director, Branded Environments team, Program Management, Project Architects, Interior Designers, and other project team members.
• Collaborate with production designers, vendors, printers, installers, construction teams, and field staff to ensure accurate, timely, and cost effective execution of design intent.
• Assist with project scoping, budgeting, resource allocation, scheduling, and balancing departmental project needs.
• Support the professional development of junior staff through guidance, collaboration, feedback, and knowledge sharing.
• Attend and contribute to meetings with clients, consultants, contractors, and vendors as appropriate.
• Partner with the Director of Branded Environments to advance departmental and organizational goals and support the development, management, and continuous improvement of departmental processes.
• Contribute to Business Development efforts through project storytelling, presentations, creative expertise, and other support as appropriate.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Demonstrate initiative, accountability, organization, adaptability, and the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
• Anticipate project needs, identify potential challenges, and work collaboratively to develop practical and creative solutions.
• Contribute positively to the development of junior staff, departmental processes, workplace culture, and the overall effectiveness of the Branded Environments team.
• Foster a positive, collaborative environment that encourages ideas, constructive feedback, professional growth, and NewGround's core values.
• Maintain a strong commitment to quality, client service, continuous improvement, and successful execution of design intent.
• Travel up to 30%, or as needed, to support client meetings, project needs, installations, and other business requirements.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE PREREQUISITES

• Four to eight years of professional experience as a Graphic Designer, Environmental Graphic Designer, or in a related design role.
• Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Fine Arts, or degree in Visual Communications, Graphic Design, or a related discipline preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Acrobat, with continued development of Adobe Creative Suite expertise.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft platforms, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong knowledge of graphic design principles, environmental graphics, branding, production processes, media, and current design trends.
• Advanced knowledge of production processes and experience working with third party printers, vendors, fabricators, and installers.
• Experience in a creative agency, architecture firm, multidisciplinary design environment, or in house design team preferred.
