Cost Analyst

Cost Analyst:The Cost Analyst will provide project controls and cost management support for the PMO Distribution Operations team. This consultant will be responsible for monitoring project financial performance, forecasting, budget management, schedule alignment, resource planning, and variance analysis across a portfolio of capital and construction projects.This role is located in Detroit, MI on a hybrid schedule (3 days onsite, 2 days remote). Cost Analyst Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Finance, Accounting, Math, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field with 3+ years of relevant project experienceExperience with cost analysis, project controls, or project financial management Experience working with SAP, Primavera P6, and/or IBM MaximoExperience analyzing project budgets, actual costs, commitments, forecasts, invoices, purchase orders, and financial dataUnderstanding of project cost forecasting, budget variance analysis, earned value concepts, and financial reportingStrong Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data manipulation, reconciliation, and reportingAbility to work effectively with Project Managers, contractors, cross-functional teams, and senior leadershipCost Analyst Responsibilities:Track project budgets, actual costs, commitments, forecasts, and variances using SAP and project forecasting toolsPrepare weekly cost forecasts and monthly budget variance reportsMonitor project schedule and construction progress using Primavera P6 and MaximoAnalyze project financials, invoices, purchase orders, work orders, and unbilled liabilitiesDevelop and maintain project checkbooks to support cost forecasting and resource planningSupport procurement, estimating, and project controls activitiesPartner with Project Managers and contractors to monitor project performance and schedule adherencePrepare cost and schedule reports for project and management reviewsPresent project financial performance, variances, forecasts, and key risks to management and stakeholdersProvide clear and concise variance explanations and financial insights to Project Managers, management, and executive stakeholders.Support ongoing project controls, forecasting, reporting, and process improvement initiatives within the PMO.TSG is an equal opportunity employer.
