Physician Assistant Program Faculty Member

This is a 12-month tenure‑track position. Responsibilities Teach Physician Assistant classes, medical science courses including Gross Anatomy, cadaver lab, and other courses such as Genetics, Microbiology, Physiology, Research, Pulmonology, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Behavioral Health, Hematology/Oncology, Geriatrics, Dermatology, Orthopedics, Urology, Family Medicine, Surgery, Skills Courses, Introduction to Physician Assistant, and Research. Participate in both didactic and clinical education, including OSCEs. Conduct Mid‑Rotation evaluations, phone calls to students, and may require after‑hours scheduling. Engage in student advising every semester, including office hours. Lead student professionalism evaluations at least twice a year, in addition to office hours. Conduct collaborative research with students and student groups. Participate in program‑sponsored community outreach activities scheduled outside regular class times, sometimes after 5 PM. Attend all college, department, program, didactic, clinical, advisory council, and admissions meetings as scheduled by the college or Physician Assistant Committee (PAC). These meetings are mandatory unless otherwise stated. Possibly lead and/or be the lead faculty/team member for activities such as Website Maintenance, Program Social Media management, White Coat Ceremony, grant‑related activities, Inter‑professional events, etc. Lead or participate in admissions activities. Become familiar with programs such as CANVAS, EXXAT, Web‑Admit (CASPA site), and the Physician Assistant Education Association (PAEA) website. Become familiar with the ARC‑PA accreditation process, including the required Self‑Study Report. Qualifications If a Physician Assistant, must have graduated from an accredited PA program, be certified by the NCCPA, and be eligible for licensure in Indiana. If a non‑PA clinical professional (e.g., Nurse Practitioner, Medical Doctor, DO, or DVM), must hold a license in good standing for their medical specialty and be eligible for licensure in Indiana. If a non‑clinician, must hold a graduate‑level degree in Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, or a related field with a minimum of 2 years teaching experience in medical science courses. Must be able to teach gross anatomy with cadaver lab, physiology, genetics, and microbiology classes, and participate in clinical education. Must be able to mentor student research and engage in department, professional, community service, college, university, and professional service activities.
