Overview
CTG is seeking to fill a Senior DB2 Database Administrator – OpenShift position for our client.
Location: Atlanta, GA / Charlotte, NC / Raleigh, NC — No Remote
Duration: Ongoing Contract
Duties:
- Administer and support DB2 databases across z/OS and/or LUW environments.
- Design, build, migrate, configure, tune, and maintain DB2 databases.
- Support DB2/Db2U on Red Hat OpenShift/Kubernetes , including storage, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Lead or support on-premises DB2 to OpenShift migrations as part of database modernization initiatives.
- Perform SQL development, database performance tuning, backup/recovery, and problem resolution.
- Manage database jobs and maintenance using CRON, ESP, or similar scheduling tools .
- Troubleshoot DB2 and OpenShift performance, availability, and stability issues.
- Partner with application, infrastructure, and platform teams throughout migration and production support.
- Support IBM Q Replication (QREP) , preferred.

Experience:
- 7+ years of DB2 Database Administration experience.
- Hands-on experience with DB2/Db2U in OpenShift or Kubernetes .
- Proven experience migrating on-premises DB2 databases to Red Hat OpenShift .
- Strong SQL and DB2 performance tuning experience.
- Experience with CRON, ESP, or enterprise scheduling tools.
- Large-scale database migration/modernization experience preferred.
- Strong communication and technical documentation skills.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
