Manufacturing Engineer IIIThe Manufacturing Engineer III will be part of the manufacturing engineering department to support production operations by designing, building, manufacturing, and implementing improvement to the process to support production operations. The position requires a results-oriented individual with a history of driving change in their work environment, strong analytical skills, and previous experience in an engineer to order / make to order project environment. Primary objectives are to drive all the initiatives that our customers demand, including driving continuous improvement, documenting processes and procedures critical to sustainable manufacturing performance.Key Job Responsibilities:Evaluate production activities through data analysis to identify opportunities for improvements in productivity, material flow, safety, quality, and cost. Prioritize actions to be taken, establish schedules for completion, and implement the necessary measures to realize savings.Lead the implementation of key elements of Lean, such as: Standardized Work Instructions, Value Stream Mapping, and Kaizen/5SLead the labor estimating function by providing estimates of direct labor as required. Develop and maintain cost models for various activities for use in estimating. Conduct time studies and audits as appropriate to validate and adjust labor estimates to reflect actual costs.Manage multiple CAPEX projects, including ROQ, Scope of Work creation, Gantt creation, purchase and acquisition, implementation, preparation for equipment and any activity required for the successful completion of the project.Facilitate and/or lead cross-functional teams with Engineering, Production and Estimating in support of driving efficiencies and eliminating non-value-added activities.Collaborate with design engineering in concurrent engineering efforts to ensure manufacturability. Working effectively with individuals of diverse style, ability, and motivation for a direct effect on business results.Taking prompt action to accomplish objectives; taking action to achieve goals beyond what is required; being proactive; generating innovative solutions in work situations.Identifying and correcting conditions that affect employee safety, upholding safety standards.Setting high standards of performance for self and others; assuming responsibility and accountability for successfully completing assignments or tasks; self-imposing standards of excellence rather than having standards imposed.Must be versed in the use of basic Microsoft office tools Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Project.Education & Training:BS / MS in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial engineering.LEAN / Six Sigma Black Belt certification is a plus.Proficiency in SolidWorks & AutoCADGood understanding and experience in implementing LEAN initiatives, leading Kaizen events, driving improvements achieving significant savings and profits.Relevant experience in a make to order/engineer to order project environment.Minimum Requirements:Minimum of 10 years of experience as Manufacturing Engineer, Operations Engineer, Process Engineer or other related roles in a heavy/industrial manufacturing environment.Previous experience in development of fixtures & Jigs.Familiarity with Fabrication, Welding & Assembly processes.Experience in project management, leading CAPEX projects, reviewing specs, maintaining budgets, implementing the equipment, leading training sessions and delivering the final product turn-key to operations.Experienced in the implementation and use of ERP systems.Experience in implementation of Lean Processes such as Standardized Work Instructions, 5S, Process Improvement Initiatives etc.High proficiency in Blueprint reading and P&ID interpretation.Preferred Requirements:Master's degree in manufacturing, or mechanical engineering.Six Sigma Green belt certification is preferred.Welding and NDE experience and training.Physical Requirements/Work Environment:Most work will be performed sitting at a desk, but some work performed will be in a shop environment.Exposed to any number of elements but with none present to the extent of being disagreeable.Physical effort equal to frequent moving of up to 50lbs materials.Regularly required to sit or stand, bend and reach.The use of Safety Glasses is required.The use of earplugs is recommended.Ability to stand up to 10 hours a day (with lunch in between) and up to 6 days a week.Ability to work in a non-air-conditioned environment.Steel-toe boots required in Manufacturing FacilityCompany Overview:Join a team driven to excel in all that we do!
