HIM Health Record Associate

Travel to nursing units and clinical areas to retrieve clinical documents for in-house and discharged patients. Prepare, scan, index, and validate documents in electronic health records (EHRs) for timely provider access. Respond to requests for release of medical records. Release protected health information according to Federal Law, client policies and procedures, and HIPAA guidelines. Interview patients and obtain timely, accurate information for Certificates of Live Birth in accordance with Florida Department of Health and Office of Vital Statistics requirements. Work as part of a team to meet departmental goals, timelines, and 98% work accuracy. Assist with departmental coverage at different HIM locations. Requirements High School, Cert, GED, Trn, Exper. Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office - Word, Excel and Outlook). Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service. The A+ certification is preferred. Knowledge of computer and clinical chart format. Ability to work in a high volume high producing focused setting. Excellent communication skills and comprehension of oral and written instructions. Attentive to fine details and eye hand coordination. 5 years of minimum required experience. Ability to work 08:30A-5P.
