Position: Mechanical Engineer 2

Location: Alexandria, VA

Position Type: Permanent position.

Job Description:

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the design, integration, construction, startup, and commissioning of complex mechanical systems in mission-critical facilities.

Key requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited engineering program
• At least 2 years of relevant design, testing, and commissioning experience
• Strong working knowledge of mechanical, HVAC, and cooling systems
• Strong knowledge of ASHRAE Handbook requirements and standards
• Ability to perform engineering calculations, equipment selection, equipment specification, system design, and system layout
• Experience producing construction contract drawings and specifications in accordance with applicable codes and standards
• Ability to resolve mechanical design, fabrication, construction, and commissioning issues
• Experience developing sequences of operations, compliance matrices, and project-support documentation
• Experience supporting Pre-Installation Testing and Checkout (PITCO), system programming, integration testing, and equipment buildouts
• Experience supporting project construction, startup, and commissioning
• AutoCAD and Revit experience in 2D and 3D environments
• Strong written and verbal communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Preferred qualifications:

• Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Proficiency with the latest version of AutoCAD and Revit
• Experience independently managing priorities, deadlines, and quality objectives
