Position Overview

SCP Health, a physician-founded and physician-led organization, is seeking a dedicated Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant to join the Emergency Department at Knox Community Hospital, a community-focused acute care hospital located in Mount Vernon, Ohio.
This opportunity offers a moderate-volume Emergency Department, strong physician collaboration, and the ability to provide high-quality emergency care in a supportive and patient-centered environment. Clinical & Program Details

Patient Volume: Approximately 25,000 ED visits annually
Specialties: Emergency Medicine
Coverage Model:

24 hours of physician coverage daily
22 hours of NP/PA coverage daily

Facility Type: 115-bed Community Hospital
Emergency Department Beds: 17
Acuity: Moderate
Shift Length: 12-hour shifts
Procedures: Standard emergency medicine procedures appropriate to NP scope of practice
Admissions/Transfers: Coordinated through hospital and physician leadership
Qualifications

Education: Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
Certification: Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or PA-C
Licensure: Ohio Nurse Practitioner license (or ability to obtain)
Experience: Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care experience preferred
Clinical Skills: Ability to independently evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients within scope of practice
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS required
