Licensed Vocational NurseThe Licensed Vocational Nurse is responsible for providing professional nursing care for patients under supervision of the physician or mid-level provider. Assists physicians and staff in coordinating patient care. Functions as primary liaison between patients; staff and physicians.Job RequirementsMinimum EducationCompletion of Vocational Nursing Program or Associate's Degree in NursingMinimum Work ExperienceOne-year License Vocational Nurse experienceRequired Licenses/CertificationsCurrent state vocational nurse licenseCurrent CPR certificateRequired Skills; Knowledge; and AbilitiesKnowledge of medical terminology; anatomy; physiology; and pathophysiology. Familiarity with health care systems; regulations; policies; and functions. Understanding of documentation standards.Knowledge of equipment; supplies; and materials needed for medical treatment. Understanding of basic laboratory procedures including preparation and screening.Knowledge of infectious disease management and control and safety standardsKnowledge of policies and procedures related to infection control; environmental safety and patient confidentialityKnowledge of medical chart reporting/recordsKnowledge of management and organizational theory to supervise the business practices including principles of employee development to train; delegate and mentor staff.
