Job Title: Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT) Profession: Respiratory Care Specialty: RRT Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 (07:00 - 19:00) Experience: 1 year required License: State license required; pending license accepted Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NALS for Pediatrics Must-Have: - Experience in Critical Care, General Care, Adults and/or Pediatrics - Flexibility to float within the facility as needed - Ability to accommodate a block schedule, though not guaranteed Description: The role involves providing respiratory therapy to patients in various settings. Candidates will work 3x12 shifts during the day, including weekdays and some weekends. The position requires floating to different areas as needed. Critical and general care experience is required. Experience working with adults and pediatric patients is preferred. Candidates who are new to the field are welcome to apply. Weekend work is a requirement. Candidates must have the following national certifications: ACLS, PALS, and NALS for Pediatrics. BLS certification is also required. There is no on-call requirement for this position. The facility will consider candidates located within a 100-mile radius. Candidates between 75-100 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis. A flu vaccine is mandatory, with exemptions only for medical reasons. Additionally, all candidates must complete a fit test using an approved mask prior to starting. The agency is responsible for scheduling the fit test, which may require travel up to 100 miles. Two managerial references from the past two years are necessary for submission. All required certifications must be current and through the American Heart Association. Previous probationary actions on a license will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Former permanent employees must wait two years from their last employment date before returning as travelers. Current employees are ineligible for travel contracts within the same health system. Candidates must possess critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment. Experience with various respiratory equipment, including BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula, is essential.
