DevOps Engineer IIIDevOps Engineer IIIs collaborate with management, product owners, developers, and engineers to plan develop, and implement solutions to optimize and automate business and technical processes. They discover, provide, and promulgate new tools and practices by reading, researching, testing, and experimenting; spending time creating proof-of-concept applications, pipelines, processes, and software deployments. They act as thought leaders to spread and teach the new practices or tools.Key ResponsibilitiesAutomate and optimize deployment of applications and infrastructure both on-prem and in the cloud by interacting with management, product owners, developers, and engineers to find pain points in their day to day lives and determine what portions of their process can be automated or streamlined.Build, support and maintain on-prem and cloud environments and/or containers / Kubernetes by helping to design, deploy, and securely maintain virtual environments that will ensure developers have an environment to help deploy their application stacks in using modern practices.Implement and maintain automation by writing, testing, deploying, and maintaining the appropriate tools.Anticipate, own, and comprehensively solve technical and procedural problems for multiple Software Development and IT Operations teams.Act confidently, independently, and decisively on large problems with incomplete information.Augment and amplify the impact of others on the team by coaching, teaching, and leading by example.Performs other duties as assigned.Adheres to Incident Management, Change Management and Problem Management processes, policies for production affecting items.Primary Results Accountable For AchievingReduction in time spent performing manual and tedious activities.Increased stability and standardization of environments.Reliability and scalability of cloud resources.Ensure efficiency of resources by quickly spinning up and tearing down environments to test and QA their applications.Reduced human error and downtime of manual processes.CSI teams learn and adopt new tools and practices which increase velocity and reduce costs.Ensure timelines are accurately communicated to management as well as meeting the agreed upon deadlines.Ensuring the work that has been produced is documented and communicated properly to the organization.Job RequirementsEducation & Certifications:Education or job knowledge equivalent to college or university undergraduate education.ExperienceThe minimum amount of relevant work experience required to successfully perform the job is at least seven (7) years.Required SkillsMathematical skillsCommunication skills - written and oral with the ability to address target audienceStrong business acumenReasoning skillsComputer Programming and Scripting skills (e.g. PowerShell, Bash, Python, etc.)Infrastructure as a Code tools like terraform experienceContainer and Orchestration experienceSetting up CICD pipeline and experience in Jenkins, GitHub, Gitlab, etc.Leadership skillsAdministrative skillsAnalytical skillsCollaboration skillsSystems Networking skillsSetting up, Monitoring, Alerting and Logging experienceRelationship BuildingThis position requires regular contact both inside and outside the company at all organizational levels, and involves considerable tact, discretion and persuasion in order to obtain willing action and consent.Decision MakingThe position requires frequent decision making and the ability to plan and perform unusual or difficult work with general operation methods and procedures.General SupervisionAssignments are both task-oriented and objective-oriented.
