Construction Estimator / Comerical & Utility Scale Solar

Location: Remote/Hybrid/ Travel Is Required Job Type: Full-time Pay Range: Depending on experience About the Position We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Construction Estimator specializing in commercial and utility-scale solar projects . The ideal candidate will have experience reviewing plans and specifications, preparing competitive bids, performing quantity takeoffs, and coordinating with project managers, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure accurate project pricing. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team working on large-scale renewable energy projects. Responsibilities Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents. Prepare complete cost estimates for commercial and utility-scale solar construction projects. Perform material quantity takeoffs and labor calculations. Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations. Develop accurate project budgets and bid proposals. Analyze project risks and identify value engineering opportunities. Coordinate with project managers, engineering teams, and field personnel during preconstruction. Maintain current pricing databases for labor, equipment, and materials. Participate in bid reviews and project handoff meetings. Assist with change order pricing and project cost analysis as needed. Qualifications Minimum of 3-5 years of estimating experience in commercial construction or utility-scale solar. Strong understanding of civil, electrical, and renewable energy construction practices. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts. Experience preparing detailed quantity takeoffs. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and estimating software. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple bids while meeting strict deadlines. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of medium-voltage and underground electrical systems. Familiarity with utility interconnection projects. Experience with Bluebeam, Plan Swift, Heavy Bid, Procore, or similar estimating software. Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, or related field is preferred but not required.
