Part-Time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) – Pediatric Autism & AAC Specialist

Location: East Texas Clinic (On-Site)
Position Type: Part-Time, Hourly (W2)
Hours: Approx. 14–17 hours per week (Flexible scheduling within clinic operating hours)
Compensation: $45-52 / hour (Paid for direct treatment and dedicated administrative time)

About Our Clinic

We provide comprehensive, integrated care for pediatric clients on the autism spectrum in East Texas. Our clinic utilizes an on-site model where children are already present for daily programming, resulting in exceptionally high scheduling compliance and a collaborative, supportive therapy environment. We are looking for a dedicated, licensed SLP to join our multidisciplinary team to lead our speech therapy program, with a specific focus on robust communication solutions, including Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems.

Job Summary

As a part-time SLP, you will provide high-quality, evidence-based speech, language, and swallowing therapy to a dedicated caseload of 14 pediatric clients. Because our clients are already on-site, you will enjoy maximum scheduling efficiency with zero travel time and the unique ability to seamlessly pivot between clients if unexpected schedule changes occur. You will play a pivotal role in managing our speech program, including evaluating, programming, and implementing high-tech and low-tech AAC devices for our non-verbal or minimally verbal clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct Therapy: Deliver individualized speech-language treatment sessions tailored to the unique communication profiles of children on the autism spectrum.
• AAC Implementation & Coding: Oversee the evaluation, customization, programming, and ongoing clinical use of speech-generating devices (CPT 92609) for 4 active AAC clients.
• Case Rotation Efficiency: Utilize our on-site model to maximize daily billable hours by dynamically adjusting your daily session lineup when a specific client is unavailable.
• Evaluations & Progress Notes: Conduct comprehensive speech/language evaluations for incoming clients and maintain strict compliance with documentation requirements for insurance authorization.
• Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work alongside our behavioral floor staff and clinic leadership to ensure communication goals and AAC device layouts are supported throughout the client's entire clinic day.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Licensure: Active and unrestricted license to practice as an SLP in the State of Texas.
• Certification: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
• Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of experience working with pediatric populations on the autism spectrum is highly preferred.
• AAC Skillset: Demonstrated experience or advanced training in evaluating, programming, and securing funding packets for AAC devices with major commercial plans (e.g., BCBS, Optum) and Texas Medicaid (TMHP).
• Skills: Exceptional clinical documentation skills, flexibility, and a passion for working within a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
