Senior Accounting Analyst

Position: Senior Accounting Analyst – GPO Location: 2999 Wildwood Parkway, Atlanta, GA 30339 Employment Type: Contract Work Arrangement: Onsite Position Summary We are seeking a highly analytical and detail‑oriented Senior Accounting Analyst – GPO to support Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) rebate and administrative fee operations. This role is responsible for independently managing rebate processes, accruals, reconciliations, financial reporting, contract compliance, and pass‑through rebate administration in accordance with accounting standards, executed agreements, and internal controls. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting expertise, analytical problem‑solving skills, and the ability to collaborate across multiple business functions. This role also requires a proactive mindset focused on process optimization, operational efficiency, compliance, and digital transformation initiatives. Key Responsibilities Process Improvement & Compliance Identify and implement opportunities to streamline and automate rebate and billing processes. Ensure all GPO rebate and fee activities comply with established SOPs, SOX requirements, and internal controls. Support special projects and ad‑hoc financial initiatives to improve operational efficiency and reporting accuracy. Contribute to operational maturity by supporting enterprise‑focused automation and self‑service initiatives. Contract Review & Fee Administration Analyze GPO and customer contracts to ensure accurate interpretation and execution of rebate and administrative fee terms. Validate supplier billings and fee calculations for compliance with contractual agreements. Ensure all invoices contain required contractual data elements and supporting documentation. Rebate Processing & Collections Support Calculate, validate, and process pass‑through rebate payments accurately and within required timelines. Review aging reports and collaborate with Accounts Receivable teams on collection activities. Ensure incoming supplier payments are properly applied against GPO fee structures. Investigate and resolve billing disputes, discrepancies, and payment issues with suppliers and internal stakeholders. Prepare and distribute monthly financial reports, scorecards, and performance metrics related to GPO rebates and fees. Conduct accrual analysis, variance analysis, and trend reporting to support management decision‑making. Support profit‑and‑loss (P&L) analysis and forecasting activities in collaboration with FP&A teams. Provide financial insights and recommendations based on data analysis. Month‑End Close & Reconciliations Ensure all accruals and rebate calculations are accurately recorded during the month‑end close process. Perform detailed reviews of financial transactions in compliance with GAAP and SOX standards. Complete general ledger reconciliations and perform variance/flux analysis on financial results. Support audit requests and maintain required financial documentation. Cross‑Functional Collaboration Build and maintain strong working relationships with Accounting, Finance, Operations, Compliance, and Business Unit stakeholders. Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment. Support team development and contribute to continuous process improvements. Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required. Typically requires 10+ years of experience in accounting, finance, financial analysis, or related disciplines. Public accounting experience preferred. Strong understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations, accrual accounting, and compliance requirements. Ability to analyze complex financial transactions and ensure reporting accuracy.
