Job Description Procurement Agent – (26141655) The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is recruiting for a Procurement Agent. Responsibilities include processing assigned requisitions; analyzing, evaluating, and editing specifications to ensure compliance with MDT, state, and federal policies, laws, and regulations. Responsibilities Determine and execute proper procurement method. Issue purchase orders or contracts. Monitor contracts throughout the life of the contract. Provide technical assistance to contractors and MDT staff. Provide training on procurement policies, laws, and regulations to MDT staff. Report to the Procurement Section Supervisor and do not supervise others. Participate in a career ladder with opportunities for advancement. Required Education and Experience Level1.1 – $31.39 per hour: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field. OR 4 years of related experience in lieu of a degree. Level2.1 – $33.76 per hour: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or a related field. 2 years of experience in governmental purchasing or contract administration, or a related field. Alternative combinations of related experience or education may be considered. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of contract administration and ability to learn state purchasing regulations and policies. Skill in writing, evaluating, checking, and editing plans, specifications, contract provisions, and other details. Skill in analyzing plans and specifications; and communicating technical information with widely varied audiences.
