Physical Therapist

Variety Child Learning Center (VCLC) is a 4410 not-for-profit agency providing quality educational and therapeutic services to young children with disabilities. Our facilities are located in Syosset, Levittown, and East Northport, NY. Our schools operate 12 months/year following a school-based calendar. Hours are typically 8:00am-3:30pm Monday-Friday. Applications for Physical Therapists are being accepted for immediate, July, and September start dates. Recent graduates welcome! Applications are reviewed as they are received. Essential Functions Provide physical therapy services in accordance with each student's IEP, supporting progress toward individualized goals and functional mobility. Assess student performance using formal and informal measures; prepare timely session notes, progress reports, annual evaluations, and required documentation. Collaborate with teachers and interdisciplinary team members to integrate therapeutic strategies that support student participation within the classroom environment. Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress, development, and ongoing needs. Participate in team meetings to contribute to comprehensive, student-centered educational planning. Ensure mandated services are delivered consistently, including timely make-up of missed sessions in compliance with regulatory requirements. Requirements: Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy and Current licensure/registration as a Physical Therapist in New York State Experience and Preferred Certifications: Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from a CAPTE-accredited program or equivalent Current licensure/registration as a Physical Therapist in New York State Experience and knowledge working with children with complex physical and communication needs. Activities usually take place in the classroom, in the gym, outside on the playground, or in special activity rooms. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, I-pads. printers/fax/scanner, telephone, and shredder. Physical Demands: This role may be physically demanding. The employee is required to be non-sedentary.
