Position Summary

We are on the search for a dedicated and highly motivated Internal Accountant to join our team. This role is critical in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring smooth month-end closes, and supporting strategic decision-making processes. Beyond routine accounting duties, the position offers the opportunity to contribute to projects aimed at improving efficiency, enhancing customer experience, and increasing profitability.

Key Responsibilities

Bookkeeping

• Handle day-to-day bookkeeping, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, and bank reconciliations
• Maintain organized financial records in compliance with regulatory standards

Month-End Close

• Manage and execute the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
• Reconcile accounts, verify data accuracy, and maintain the integrity of financial records

Financial Reporting

• Prepare comprehensive financial and performance reports
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks
• Review and discuss financial reports with team members and owners, providing actionable feedback

Collaboration

• Engage frequently with business owners and other team members to align financial strategies with operational goals
• Provide financial insights to support business decisions and strategic planning

Process Improvement Projects

• Utilize available time to spearhead projects that enhance operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and profitability
• Develop creative and strategic solutions to address challenges and improve systems

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum of 3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
• Strong understanding of financial principles, reporting, and reconciliation processes
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to follow instructions meticulously when required
• Demonstrated ability to think creatively and strategically to solve problems and develop innovative solutions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with team members and leadership
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
