Business Development Manager - Technology and Communications (TX/OK)

Job Summary The Business Development Manager - Communications and Technology will report to the VP of Sales - Communications and Technology and work closely with other Executive Leadership, District Managers, Branch Managers and Sourcing to help increase opportunity development and sales performance. This role will identify new target market opportunities, support large project and blanket bids and implement training programs in the core markets and regions they are assigned. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Identify new and expand existing communications and technology services opportunities for targeted sales growth and stabilization, developing customer-specific sales strategies. Drive sales growth in the traditional Service Provider markets with key customers, integrators, engineering firms and other key decision makers Negotiate strategic vendor partnerships to support market growth. Recommend upgrades to current inventory based on business insights and product knowledge. Advise business leaders and take a central role in large project specification and pricing support. Drive continual improvement through on-going training and mentoring. Direct knowledge and contacts in the Electric Utility and Service provider markets including infrastructure, EPC, utility, industrial end-user, OEM and electrical contractor customers. Gather insights and collaborate with other business leaders to interpret feedback from stakeholders and adjust strategies and tactics accordingly for short- and long-term business success. Work directly with local district managers and account managers to drive growth opportunities for the Communications and Technology group into Electric Utility accounts (cooperatives, municipals, IOUs). Prepare financial models for upper-level management for reporting capability to the customer level. Positively represent and promote the company to vendors, customers and within the community. Minimum Qualifications Experience working as a liaison between various departments and organizations. Strong verbal and written communications skills. Results oriented self-starter. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills. Highly process and detail oriented. Team player who creates synergy within the group and who has the ability to work under pressure in order to meet deadlines. Strong interpersonal, collaborative and leadership skills. Willingness and ability to understand the industry, internal operating company dynamics, and customers. Preferred Qualifications 7+ years of experience in the service provider and/or utility industry, particularly telecommunications and broadband experience Experience of commercial engagement with installation contractors, engineering firms, consulting firms, and EPC organizations associated with the utility or service provide markets Successful history of sales growth in a Business Environment.
