Plant Superintendent – Selma, AL Location: Selma, AL, USA 36701 Job Type: Salary (full-time) Requisition ID: 44115 The Role As a member of the Production team, the Plant Superintendent will coordinate production activities by overseeing subordinate Supervisors and Team Leaders. Responsibilities include: Managing subordinate Supervisors/Team Leaders who supervise production employees. Being responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Fulfilling supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organization policies and applicable laws. Training employees and planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Conducting meetings with multidisciplinary teams to resolve any issue. Fostering teamwork and facilitating performance. Managing production areas to achieve plant objectives such as efficiency, productivity, zero rejects, delivery on time, 5S, customer satisfaction, scrap reduction, safety, and minimizing downtime and overtime. Achieving daily targets for production and inventory (WIP) according to the production control plan. Coaching and developing Production Supervisors and Leaders as required. Implementing and monitoring best manufacturing practices. Keeping staff informed of weekly production requirements. Ensuring compliance with the policies and procedures of quality, environment, and labor standards of Lear Corporation. Complying with the Safety, Health, and Sustainability Policy and participating in safety, health, and sustainability training and campaigns. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) or equivalent combination of education and experience, or at least three years of related experience. Basic computer skills. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Bonus Automotive experience helpful but not required. Lean manufacturing experience helpful but not required.
