Job Details Job ID: 5710753 Application Deadline: Posted until filled Posted: May 13, 2026 5:00 AM (UTC) Starting Date: Immediately Job Description Full-Time / 12 Month Anticipated Start Date: July 1, 2026 Technology Support Specialist The job of Technology Support Specialist is performed to integrate technology to enhance the learning environment; install and maintain computer hardware and software; provide technical support to site administrators, staff, and students; and resolve school site operational issues. This job reports to the Director of Technology. Attends meetings and training as required to ensure resource efficiencies while complying with established requirements. Communicates with staff on outages to ensure rapid and responsible attention to incidents and problems. Facilitates and supervises ticket escalation in a timely manner and updates Help Desk tickets with status to maintain district technology and equipment efficiency. Installs and maintains computers, peripherals, and electronic equipment (e.g., computers, repairs, installation, troubleshooting and/or upgrades) to maintain and update overall site operations in classrooms, library, computer labs, etc., and maintain equipment in a safe and functional operating condition. Is familiar with industry warranty support and part replacement programs; initiates contact with companies to order parts and complete repairs to ensure operation of equipment for efficiency and productive readiness. Maintains hardware availability for checkout to maintain accurate records of equipment usage and provide appropriate equipment for special occasion meetings or events. Maintains a clear understanding of the following configurations for troubleshooting: District printer setup Networking including WiFi, IP, DHCP, Cisco Devices Active Directory for the purpose of ensuring district proficiency and quality Maintains manual and electronic documents, files, and records (e.g., inventory database, preventive maintenance, purchases, inspections, repair logs, etc.) to document activities, convey information, and provide an up-to-date reference and audit trail. Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit. Performs network troubleshooting to maintain critical site operations. Possesses software support of IOS and Android mobile devices to ensure district capabilities and necessary intercommunication. Prepares status reports, user guides, and related materials to document activities, provide written reference, and convey information, and in-service training. Provides in-classroom support for technology-related equipment (e.g., Applied Technology, Library Media Center and Telecommunications) to provide information regarding procedures, processes, and safety. Researches computer solutions and latest technology to provide best practices in technology to the Liberty School District. Responds to requests for assistance through multiple communication methods regarding technology-related issues to provide quick, quality service within a reasonable timeframe. Serves as a backup for the help desk to provide seamless service to end users. Trains school site staff and technology assistants on a variety of software applications and hardware operations (e.g., e-mail, student grading, word processing, spreadsheet applications) to provide ongoing support and maximize the capabilities of assigned staff. Transports and sets up computer equipment to district and district approved buildings to provide technology resources in a timely manner. Works with Software Specialists regarding improvements in the end user desktop experience to provide essential information for up-to-date versions and capabilities. Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications Skills, Knowledge and Abilities are required to perform multiple technical tasks, periodically upgrading skills to meet changing job conditions. Skills: utilization of diagnostic and application software; adherence to safety practices; and maintenance of accurate records. Knowledge: basic math including fractions, percents, ratios; reading manuals; writing documents; presenting information; solving practical problems. Includes electronics analysis; multi-platform operating systems and personal computers; system security; peripheral equipment; troubleshooting methodologies. Abilities: scheduling activities; gathering, collating, classifying data; using job‑related equipment; flexibility to work with others; navigating defined processes; operating equipment using standardized methods; working with diverse individuals; problem solving with data and equipment; adapting to changing work priorities; establishing effective relationships; mechanical aptitude; communication with diverse tech groups; attention to detail; working under time constraints. Responsibilities Working under limited supervision following standardized practices and/or methods; leading, guiding, and/or coordinating others; operating within a defined budget. Utilization of resources from other work units often required to perform functions. Continual opportunity to impact organization services. Work Environment Physical demands include significant lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, some climbing and balancing, frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and fine finger dexterity. Approximately 30% sitting, 30% walking, and 40% standing. Minimal temperature variations. Exposure to risk of injury and/or illness. Experience: Job related experience is required. Education: Targeted, job related education with study in job‑related area. Certificates and Licenses: Valid Driver's License & Evidence of Insurability.
