Geri Psych Unit: LPN (7a-7p) -FT

Description Job Summary: The LPN is responsible for providing direct patient quality care to the Geriatric Psychiatric patients in the unit. He/She also functions as a member of a multidisciplinary team. This position has an OSHA Category I level of exposure to blood and body substances. Category I tasks are all procedures or other job-related tasks involving an inherent potential for mucous membrane or skin contact with blood, body fluids or body tissues or a potential for spills or splashes with blood, body fluids or tissues. Use of appropriate protective measures is required for every employee engaged in Category I tasks. Requirements Required Skills/Abilities: Basic computer skills required Interpersonal skills- including customer relations, grammar, reading, and organizational skills Ability to adapt to changing environments Independent nursing skills Education and Experience: Degree from an accredited school of nursing and current certification in licensed practical nursing with the Alabama Board of Nursing. Pursues programs of Continuing Education meeting the twenty-four (24) hours required per two-year period by the Alabama Board of Nursing. Current BLS certification Physical Requirements: Must be able to walk, stand, stoop, lift, balance, sit, kneel, hear, reach, pull, talk, see, turn, carry, push, handle and write.
