Responsibilities The Applications Development Expert provides design recommendations based on long-term IT organization strategy. The position shall use a variety of platforms to provide automated systems applications to customers. This individual will be viewed both internally and externally as a technical expert and critical technical resource across multiple disciplines. His/her responsibilities include performing the following tasks: A. Developing enterprise level application and custom integration solutions including major enhancements and interfaces, functions and features; B. Providing expertise regarding the integration of applications across the business; C. Determining specifications, then plans, designs, and developing the most complex and business critical software solutions, utilizing appropriate software engineering processes (either individually or in concert with a project team); D. Assisting in the most difficult support problems; E. Developing programming and development standards and procedures as well as programming architectures for code reuse; F. Understanding and consistently applying the attributes and processes of current application development methodologies; G. Researching and maintaining knowledge in emerging technologies and possible application to the business; and H. Acting as an internal consultant, advocate, mentor and change agent. I. Design, develop and implement complex solutions based on Java technology and spring related frameworks. J. Translate applications requirements into web-based solutions using the recommended frameworks and technology. K. Design and develop reusable components, accelerators and frameworks. L. Assist in the system integration of components. M. Implement Test Driven Development frameworks (Mockito, MyMock etc.) N. Implement Java Design Patterns. O. Implement data structures. Requirements Required Qualifications Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field or equivalent work experience. (Note: A Master’s degree is preferred.) Seven (7) years of IT and business/industry work experience. At least three (3) years of experience in developing and consuming RESTful APIs. At least two (2) years of experience in Service Oriented Architecture/Service integration with Web Services, REST and security integration.
