Physical Therapy AssistantAs a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will provide essential physical therapy treatments under the guidance of licensed physical therapists. This includes various modalities, manual techniques, and exercise strategies. You will instruct and guide patients through functional activities such as bed mobility, transfers, gait, and balance activities while working with minimal supervision.Education and ExperienceHigh School Education/GED or equivalent: RequiredAssociate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: PreferredTwo years of technical experience: PreferredExperience in therapy in an acute care environment, acute therapy unit, and/or outpatient setting: PreferredLicenses and CertificationsPhysical Therapy Assistant licensure in all applicable states of practice: RequiredCardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor: RequiredValid Driver's License and must be at least 21 years of age or older: RequiredEssential FunctionsAdminister physical therapy treatments, utilizing modalities, manual techniques, and common exercise techniques.Instruct and guide patients through functional activities, including bed mobility, transfers, and gait/balance activities.Observe and adhere to treatment precautions as specified by physical therapists, nurses, or physicians.Monitor changes in patient responses and report findings to the supervising nurses and physical therapists.Provide daily and timely documentation of patient interventions and services in the acute care setting.Document treatments for employees and outpatients as needed.Educate and train patients and caregivers, considering their preferred learning styles.Assess responses to education and training.Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.Organizational RequirementsWe are committed to the health and safety of our associates and patients, requiring all associates to receive mandatory vaccinations as a condition of employment.
