Field Representative – Department of Justice Salary: $6,256.00 – $8,011.00 per month (New to State candidates hired at minimum salary) Final Filing Date: 5/13/2026 Application Methods: Electronic via CalCareer; By Mail (Drop-off) Under the general direction of a Special Agent Supervisor, the Field Representative will: Independently perform field inspections of cardrooms and tribal casinos to ensure compliance with the Gambling Control Act, Penal Code, Tribal State Compacts, and California Code of Regulations (Title 4 and Title 11). Interpret statutes, regulations, and compacts related to gambling. Conduct preliminary investigations of alleged unsuitable operating methods. Prepare inspection and preliminary investigative reports. Identify violations and report pertinent information to Compliance and Enforcement or Licensing staff. Analyze problems and offer solutions to supervisory and management staff. Write correspondence related to field inspection findings. Act as a liaison between the Bureau and local, state, and federal agencies. Provide gambling subject‑matter expertise to individuals conducting investigations and coordinate investigations with other law‑enforcement agencies.
